I saw the trailer for the film version of Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" and it is making me so excited for the movie.
I love the book, and I have since I was a wee one. I have very high hopes for the film, but what I've seen so far seems like it could be a very beautiful and strange interpretation of the book.
It looks quite different from the book, but I think I'd rather it not attempt to be exactly like the story since I don't think it would work.
My favorite illustration from the book version is when Max's room starts to turn into a forest:
Oh Max, you mischief-monger, you.
Proof that I'm a Wild Thing-fan:
Here's a picture from a few years ago, where you can barely see that I'm wearing my "Where the Wild Things Are" t-shirt.
Hm... this might be slightly awkward photographic proof. We have discovered that the wild things exist on my bosom-age. Well, now you know.
Let the wild rumpus begin!
(A line from the book, for those not in the Sendak-know)
